EE-Accommodations

HomEE as digital backbone

Six years ago, EE-Accommodations began a search for a suitable platform to support their operations. The reason? Existing Facility Management Information Systems (FMIS) were insufficient for recording location data, performing inspections, and handling work and cleaning tasks. The organization wasn’t looking for a standard package, but for a platform that could adapt to their processes and ambitions.
"Without HomEE, our entire process wouldn’t function. It’s the first thing everyone opens in the morning"

The challenge

Before the arrival of HomEE, EE-Accommodations worked with scattered Excel files, emails, and manual processes for contract management and invoicing. This led to errors, delays, and a lack of overview. Reporting was limited, data was dispersed, and existing software couldn’t handle daily operations.

The need

EE-Accommodations wanted more than just digitalization: the goal was to automate processes, minimize errors, and make data centrally available across multiple departments. Integration with financial accounting systems was also key. We built HomEE from the ground up as a modular platform that evolves alongside the organization’s needs — starting with location management and maintenance, and later expanding to contract management, planning, inventory, and night registration

The solution

Together with Infodation, EE-Accommodations developed HomEE: a web platform with a mobile app. From the beginning, the collaboration was intense. EE-Accommodations defined the functional scope; Infodation built the system and made the technical decisions. Thanks to clear role division, weekly sprints, and well-maintained documentation in Confluence, a mature development process emerged. The arrival of an internal product owner at EE-Accommodations added even more structure and ownership.

What started as a collaboration evolved into a true partnership: Infodation is responsible for the technology and stability, EE-Accommodations for the content and priorities. This balance enables HomEE to grow continuously, based on real-world experience and user feedback.

Homee Platform
The Result

Today, HomEE is the central system for EE-Accommodations. From property rentals to maintenance, from night registration to inventory management — everything runs through one platform. Field staff use the mobile app (even offline), while planners and administrative staff work in the web portal. Error-prone manual processes have been replaced with reliable digital workflows. The time savings, insights, and error reduction are substantial.

The architecture

HomEE is built on a decoupled architecture, with separate frontend, backend, and mobile applications. Everything runs as independent services on Kubernetes (DexK8s), hosted in the Google Cloud. Data is stored in MongoDB. Modern DevOps tools are used for logging, monitoring, and CI/CD — including Jenkins, Grafana, Kibana, and gsutil for file interaction. Authentication is handled via JWT. The mobile app supports offline use and automatically syncs when a connection is restored.

Deliverables till the end of 2024

In the early phases of the project, we delivered the core functional building blocks of HomEE: multi-tenant support, contract management, inspections, maintenance, inventory management, night registration, and location management. Users now benefit from a single platform for:

  • location management, inspections, contracts
  • inventory
  • night registration
  • reporting

This includes mobile support, extensive permission structures, integrations with external systems such as AFAS, and flexible templates for jobs, item lists, and workflows.

2025 and beyond

Development continues. Since 2025, the focus has been on smart integrations with other systems and applications, increased automation, and deeper reporting capabilities.

Future process improvements include automatic alerts for exceeding maximum stay durations, better export functionality, new contract options (such as monthly indicators for weekly billing), inventory reservations, standard templates, and improved cost handling. What once started as FMIS frustration has now become the beating heart of the organization.

One platform for the entire Jumeaux Group

EE-Accommodations will soon no longer be the only user of HomEE. Sister companies KaFra Housing and Logejo will also transition to the platform. The entire Jumeaux Group will benefit from one scalable, modular platform. Where Excel once ruled, there will now be clarity, structure, and control. HomEE will not only serve as the digital core of EE-Accommodations — but also as the foundation for further digitalization and growth of the entire group.
